What I see...

Thoughts of a friend.

There's a way of carrying yourself that in a way, screams at the world the experiences you've had. I've watched some people interact with me and others, and they've always brought a smile to me. Even if we don't talk as much as we once did. Life happens, we keep trudging along, give the passing nod, or quick conversation here or there. You can feel the energy come off them. A fun, positive light with an aura of the pain they have felt they would never wish on another soul. How they speak, treat others. And react. They are kind, yet realistic, serious in their beliefs and defend furiously the ones they value. They don't have time for games that leave others hurt, and don't condone others doing it either. Their silent beauty giving way to a soft pride they wear like wings. And for all their great qualities, bad luck never seems to be far off. They suffer, buy they don't let it break them, even when they think they are being or becoming jaded, and that always leaves me in awe. These gems in life, we should be so lucky to glimpse for what they are as they burn a trail through life.

Hmm hmm.

So, would that be the reason they left her instead, or were they all unrelated coincidences?

Only fools believe a person is infallible, just as they cannot tell the difference between mistake and malice.

Alas, poor Yorick. The irredeemable empty skull. I knew him not.

Now... to keep on with one's own words... hmm. i finally understand what not having the time for it feels like.

Feels pretty good. I hope I understand the misery others suffer through thist... my gods, do I NOT understand the bitterness, when life can be so pleasing. :: shrugs:: To each their own.

[Intro: Ensemble]
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah

[Verse 1: P.T. Barnum]
Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for (woah)
Been searching in the dark, your sweat soaking through the floor (woah)
And buried in your bones there's an ache that you can't ignore
Taking your breath, stealing your mind
And all that was real is left behind

[Pre-Chorus: P.T. Barnum]
Don't fight it, it's coming for you, running at ya
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after
Your fever dream, can't you see it getting closer
Just surrender 'cause you feel the feeling taking over
It's fire, it's freedom, it's flooding open
It's a preacher in the pulpit and you'll find devotion
There's something breaking at the brick of every wall it's holding I'll let you now, so tell me do you wanna go?

[Chorus: Ensemble & P.T. Barnum]
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watching it come true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show

[Verse 2: P.T. Barnum]
(Woah) colossal we come these renegades in the ring
(Woah) where the lost get found in the crown of the circus king

[Pre-Chorus: Ensemble & P.T. Barnum]
Don't fight it, it's coming for you, running at ya
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after
It's blinding outside and I think that you know
Just surrender 'cause you're calling and you wanna go

[Chorus: Ensemble & P.T. Barnum]
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, intoxicating you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watching it come true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show

[Post-Chorus: P.T. Barnum & Lettie Lutz]
It's everything you ever want
It's everything you ever need
And it's here right in front of you
This is where you wanna be (This is where you wanna be)
It's everything you ever want
It's everything you ever need
And it's here right in front of you
This is where you wanna be
This is where you wanna be

[Chorus: Ensemble, Phillip Carlyle, Lettie Lutz & P.T. Barnum]
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watching it come true, it's taking over you
This is the greatest show
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the walls can't stop us now
I'm watching it come true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show

[Bridge: Phillip Carlyle & Anne Wheeler]
'Cause everything you want is right in front of you
And you see the impossible is coming true
And the walls can't stop us (now) now, yeah

[Outro]
This is the greatest show (Oh!)
This is the greatest show (Oh!)
This is the greatest show (Oh!)
This is the greatest show (Oh!)
This is the greatest show (Oh!)
This is the greatest show (Oh!)
(This is the greatest show)
This is the greatest show (Oh!)
This is the greatest show!

I don't think I've ever been so angry and calm in my life as I am in this moment...For my daughter, for myself. Things. Need. To. Change.

--"-It's easy to say, that one does something for the sake of another, but not understand the true burden of caring, protecting, and wanting that person truly safe and happy. That comes at a cost too high to pay, for the stated casual interest in another's safety. Every single person involved in contributing to Kyrah's situation, has been unable to pay that cost.

And now, it is my daughter that suffers the entirety of it.

Anyone claiming to be concerned about my daughter's well-being, I absolutely, completely, unequivocally hold to the sole aspiration of paying that cost, without hesitation.

I cannot begin to describe my anger, but my concern for my daughter and what she feels and wants supersedes that, just for the sake of having her gorgeous smile. I hope I make that unendingly clear."

Your worth, is the weight of your honored, kept and unwavering convictions divided by every last single soul you've used, hurt and stepped on, to be who you are.

The trick is, no one can ever take that away from you. Only you know what you are, and what you have done. You and you alone get to know that... until your dying breath...

and Maybe... just maybe... after that as well.

"Daddy... I'll remember this day... forever! I love you. Thank you for bringing me to see this!"

09:43 Jan 14 2018
Times Read: 715

I took my Littlefoot out to see The Greatest Showman. This perceptive little angel kept squeezing me and laughing, crying and growing serious all through the movie. That is such a great film, the music is inspiring and the story is just what a soft person needs to see. She was so happy I took her to see it. How could I not? She sings her pretty lungs out when she hears "This Is Me." She sings it so thrown into the words, it breaks my heart. I can't stand the situations she's endured, but they have made her so gentle, aware and emotional. And I can't be grateful enough. I'm extremely lucky for her to have grown as she has.

Too many things hit close to home, my eyes were not dry very long throughout the movie. Littlefoot would tug at me and comment on the situations portrayed. How she thought something was unjust and unfair, how people shouldn't treat others. Then she laughed at the dances, the great choreography, she loved the music, sang along and hummed and danced in her seat. Snuggled me but kept such attention to the movie.

"Dad, I'm glad he messed up" she whispered to me cheerfully.
"Oh, and why's that?"
"Because if he hadn't treated that lady badly, my favorite song wouldn't exist. She got stronger and he learned he made a big mistake."
"Oh my god, baby. You're absolutely right. He did learn that he messed up. And yes, her getting stronger did lead to the song we both love."
"It's still sad though."
"Hmm hmm. Yes, but a person growing is not a sad thing, just the unfortunate things that happen. And look, she's smiling again..."

I'm trying to keep straight all of the little things that happened today, because my heart was bursting. The little girl wanting to quit ballet made her want to start ballet again... That... that is amazing. She said she didn't blame the girl for wanting to quit, but she shouldn't. I couldn't squeeze her enough.

She hated when the boy got slapped for no reason... full out cried when the typical bullies of the movie did horrible things.

"Now... they lost everything dad! That's not fair. Why are they still being mean!? " She almost wanted to stop watching then, but I told her the story wasn't over, things would be okay soon... And she lit up, wiped her tears on my shoulder and kept watching...

She was amazed by the rope dancer and thought she looked like a huge dancing butterfly. And she said it was silly the boy was ashamed to be seen holding her hand.

There's a chorus of the song, "The Greatest Show" that was sung three times. One at the beginning, then again around the middle and one last time at the end of the movie, at that point... Littlefoot took my breath away in an ocean of tears that I couldn't hold back. She sang out loud and proudly... and changed the lyrics to the song on purpose as she gripped me tightly to make sure I heard her...

♫It's everything you ever want
It's everything you ever need
And it's here right in front of you
This is where you wanna be

It's everything I'll ever want
It's everything I'll ever need
And it's here right beside of me
This is where I want to be
daddy I love you♫

I simply broke, and hugged her tightly crying as the light in the theater came on around us.

She's joined her likeness among the Endless.

Real vampires love Vampire Rave.

Cinamon Hadley, the inspiration for the character design of Neil Gaiman’s Death of The Endless featured in his Sandman comics, has passed away from a long battle with cancer on January 6th.

She was diagnosed with the advanced stages of small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the colon earlier this year, but raised money for treatment causing her to go into remission.

Sadly, her cancer returned, and despite raising money for a new round of treatments via crowdfunding, she succumbed to the cancer’s spread.

Funds raised for her treatments will now be used for her funeral costs. You can donate here.

Cinamon’s influence on Goth Fashion and culture cannot be overstated.

“Death is the only major character whose visuals didn’t spring from me; that credit goes to Mike Dringenberg. In my original Sandman outline, I suggested Death look like rock star Nico in 1968, with the perfect cheekbones and perfect face she has on the cover of her Chelsea Girl album.

But Mike Dringenberg had his own ideas, so he sent me a drawing based on a woman he knew named Cinamon Hadley — the drawing that was later printed in Sandman 11 — and I looked at it and had the immediate reaction of, “Wow. That’s really cool.” Later that day, Dave McKean and I went to dinner in Chelsea at the My Old Dutch Pancake House and the waitress who served us was a kind of vision. She was American, had long black hair, was dressed entirely in black — black jeans, T-shirt, etc. — and wore a big silver ankh on a silver necklace. And she looked exactly like Mike Dringenberg’s drawing of Death.”-Neil Gaiman

Every person that doesn't care how they hurt another with how they speak, accuse those that speak as much as they can so they aren't misunderstood, of liking their own voice. It's fascinating how another human being will treat another and then claim they do their best to be kind, gentle and understanding. Nah, they are putrid, selfish and egotistical.

Those that amuse me the most, are the ones that behave as though words don't really matter, but will share and post the hell out of quoted statements and works of others they think justify a portion of their destructive behaviors.

This is why I am the way I am. Words matter even when you don't listen to what I'm telling you. Words matter even when you are tearing at my soul with your vicious poisonous tongue. They will always matter.
